New Year, New Tile - What To Expect for Your Next Tile Project

With a new year here, there is new tile to be installed! If you have been looking at starting the remodel or building process for a kitchen backsplash, bathroom floor, or accent wall, now is the time! Starting such a big project can be intimidating. It can often be overwhelming not knowing what to expect. In order to make the process smoother, we have created an outline of our process, which we will explain in this blog. This way, you can know what to expect throughout the entire tile process.

Getting Started

You’ve been staring at your kitchen backsplash for quite some time and have finally decided that it’s time to make a change. You’ve been following us on Instagram and have seen all of the beautiful tile we have to offer. It’s time to get started and grab some tile! What are you to do next?

  1. Give us a call or email us to set up an appointment with one of our design consultants.
We are open to the public from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Tuesday through Friday.

*Note: If you do not live in the DFW area or are unable to come to our showroom, we can work on supplying your tile of choice by communicating via email or phone. Please email us any information you have regarding your tile project and/or the tile product you are interested in. We will do our best to work with you in any way that we can.

  2. Prepare any ideas that you have in mind for your project.
Don’t have any ideas? That’s okay, too! You are more than welcome to look around our showroom and see what sparks your interest.

Decisions, Decisions

Once you’ve made an appointment, you will come to our showroom to speak with one of our design consultants. Our design consultants are here to take your ideas and turn them into reality.

  1. Inform your design consultant of your needs.
Your design consultant will need to know what space you are needing tile for, whether it is for a kitchen backsplash or a laundry room floor. This way, your design consultant will be sure to find products that are rated for that specific area. For example, many products are not shower rated due the amount of water that the tile will come in contact with. Some products work better for some spaces than others. You will also inform them of your price range. Our showroom has a very wide range of pricing depending on the production process, material, etc. With so many products to choose from, it is good for our design consultants to know how to limit the selections for products that will truly work best for you. Finally, we will need to know an estimated lead time for your project. If you were needing to install your tile yesterday, a product with a twelve-week lead time may not be the best fit for you. Some of our products can arrive within ten days, while others may be custom-made, meaning that they will have a longer lead time, which can be up to possibly fourteen weeks.

  2. Say “YES” to the tile!
Once you and your design consultant find a selection of tile products to choose from, you will make your final decision.

Let’s Get This Thing Going!

Next, we get to the nitty gritty stuff.

  1. Sign here please!
Your design consultant will work with our vendors to give you exact pricing and lead times. Once they have all of the specifics, your design consultant will create an Estimate, which will be sent to you via email. This estimate will need to be approved by you in writing.
*Note: There may be additional forms needed depending on the context of your order. Some examples of these instances could include placing a custom tile order or are having your items shipped directly to you rather than to the showroom.

  2. Will it be cash, card, or check?
Once your estimate is approved, your design consultant will create an invoice. This invoice includes the material only, excluding shipping and any additional charges. This is because we want to make sure that you are charged the correct amount for shipping. No one wants to overpay! The invoice will be sent to you via email with a link for payment. You may pay with this direct link, a credit card, or a check.

  3. Now that everything is ready to go, we can get things ordered!
Once we have received payment, things get really exciting. We will be able to then place the order for your tile with our vendors.

Coming Soon

Now, we wait! Depending on the tile, production and delivery could take anywhere from 10 days to 14 weeks.

  1. Keeping you in the loop.
As we receive updates, our shipping team will contact you to keep you updated with the estimated time of arrival.

  2. All paid up!
Once your tile has arrived at either our showroom or our offsite warehouse, we will send you a final invoice that will include all shipping costs.

  3. The time has come… Your tile has arrived!
Once the final invoice has been paid, our shipping team will send you a pick-up form via email.
